— The Opera of the Month collaboration focuses on improving existing articles. —
The operas of the month for July are four German operas:
- Engelbert Humperdinck: Königskinder (needs a synopsis and more developed performance history)
- Erich Wolfgang Korngold: Violanta (is a stub needing expansion and sourcing)
- Richard Strauss: Elektra (needs a performance history and more detailed synopsis)
- Richard Strauss: Salome (needs an expanded performance history and both copy-editing and sourcing for the section "The role of Salome")
Related to these operas, we lack articles on several of their role creators:
- Karel Burian who created Herodes in Salome
- Karl Perron who created Jochanaan in Salome and Orest in Elektra (also the first Baron Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier)
- Marie Wittich who created the title role in Salome
- Margarethe Siems who created Chrysothemis in Elektra (also the first Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier and Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos)
