  6. Results.
  7. See also
  8. Notes (only if necessary)

Infobox MMA event edit

Follow the instructions given in the documentation of this template to fill it. It is suggested that you use the format city, country in the city field. Do not add flag icons for locations in the infobox.

Lead section edit

The lead section should have a brief summary of the most important aspects of the event. Refer to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (lead section) for specifics or take a look at an existing event article. It should always begin with a official name of the event, date, location. Example:

K-1 World Grand Prix 2009 Final was a martial arts event held by the K-1 on Saturday December 5, 2009 at the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan.

Background edit

Describe and reference with reliable sources the relevant details that occurred prior to a kickboxing event, such as change of venue, change of date, change of card, kickboxers injuries, weight-ins and so on.

Event edit

Articles about notable events should have a well-sourced prose, not merely a list of results. Write short summaries of the fights, trying to limit them to maximum 100 words per fight. Try to reference text with fight accounts in reliable sources. Follow a chronological order.

Results edit

Place the bouts in chronological order as they appeared originally during the event.

Tournament bracket edit

Several kickboxing events have tournaments. Use an appropriate template from Category:Tournament bracket templates. The recommended templates are:

It is recommended that you add this section to link to other notable topics that you may feel are related to an event. These are some common examples:

References edit

Always add this section as it is here that other editors will be able to verify the information. It is recommended that you use {{reflist}}.

External links edit

Keep external links minimal, meritable, and directly relevant to the article. Please read Wikipedia:External links for further information.

Categories edit

Do not forget to add the appropriate categories at the end of an article. These are the common categories for kickboxing events.

  • [[Category:Name of the organization events
  • [[Category:Year of the event in kickboxing]]
  • [[Category:Kickboxing in country where the event took place]]
  • [[Category:Sport in city where the event took place]]

Notes about kickboxing event articles edit

  • Do not use your interpretation of a method in the record, but what the sources say. For example, if a source says that the fight was a KO by right hook but you believe it was a TKO by punches, use KO (Right hook). Remember that the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth.
  • Per WP:RED, it is suggested to avoid wikifying kickboxers that do not have an article in Wikipedia yet.
