KMLs    accepted

Ooookay, so I haven't accepted a couple of these yet because there are mileages given that are not confirmed in the article. I let one of them slide because using the mileage given in the article only cost you a thousandth of a point, but I can't award anything until I know where these mileages are coming from. TCN7JM 23:29, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They are milages got from the software with which I drew the KML, and forgot to update on the article. PE 1 may be a little longer on my calculation than in the article because I included PE's half of the Confederation Bridge. As for US6 (CO),
As for the other KMLs, that's acceptable. TCN7JM 06:43, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bonuses edit

  • 20 KML files over 100 miles.   +75 (US 6 is still wrong but there were other long-enough ones that were correct after you stopped counting.)

Challenges edit

  • I have to contest Ontario Highway 7, as it is missing the first 95.8 miles of the route and incorrectly shows a discontinued portion as part of the highway. I'm happy to withdraw this challenge if the KML is fixed. - Floydian τ ¢ 03:03, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Is it correct now? Rcsprinter123 (lecture) @ 07:48, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Good enough for Canadians ;) I'll make the minor fix and add the former sections as I normally do. Challenge respectfully withdrawn. - Floydian τ ¢ 08:04, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would like to co-challenge Template:Attached KML/U.S. Route 6 with Floydian. Once the individual state KMLs are made, it's literally no work to compile them into one large file. So, we think getting points for the state-detail article KML and the main KML is double dipping. Now, speaking for myself here, if all of the US 6 state-detail articles had not been not created, I would have no problem with the main KML claiming points for the state(s) without state-detail articles. –Fredddie 21:30, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Floydian: Please confirm that you are challenging this as well. TCN7JM 21:34, 9 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I can't disagree with what Fredddie is saying. I'm sure it was done in good faith, but I think it's at least under the same mantra as maps losing points if the KML is already made. RCS has informed me by email that he is currently away for a week, so I don't believe we'll see any response until next weekend. - Floydian τ ¢ 05:13, 10 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I must side with Fredddie and Floydian here. I also agree that it was probably done in good faith, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with creating the KML for the whole route; I just don't think it should be claimed for points. Looking closer into this, I realized that Rcsprinter also did this with the KML(s) for U.S. Route 1 in Round 2. Had I noticed it the first time, I would have warned against doing it again. However, that is moot as A) Rcsprinter is already in Round 3, and B) he would have made Round 3 without the extra points from the KML "double dip" regardless. 15 points each to Fredddie and Floydian for the successful challenge. TCN7JM 05:05, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    (P.S., don't bother claiming the challenge as a submission. I'll just tack it on when I'm done here. TCN7JM 05:07, 13 August 2014 (UTC))[reply]

100^x denotes roads over 100 miles (to keep track for the bonus)

You seem to have added an extra two points to all of your KML submissions. The two-point bonus only happens at 200 miles (320 km).

That's the two points for being over 50 miles. Can you recalculate the ones over 200 to confirm? Rcsprinter123 (warn) @ 07:58, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed my formula; workings should be correct from here on. Rcsprinter123 (gossip) @ 17:17, 7 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Confirming that your new formula is correct. Thank you. TCN7JM 06:39, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is an unusual one - the road itself is only 58.9 miles (2.356pts) but I also included another 167.1 miles in the KML which is the sections not yet upgraded. This means a total KML length of 226 miles (11.040pts); please use your discretion to decide how many points to award.   +11.040
