Article does not exist for this referent, but thier numbers are very great and they seem to have been attracting some interesting scholarly interest lately. The new information seems to tend on their genetics, origin, and place on the canine branch of the tree of life. There was a major project to get DNA from thousands of AVDs in order to determine if they originally came from Eurasia and if the Basenji arrived separately. Here are some WP:RSes I Googled:
