Discussion edit

This project aims to relate the Western Sahara Territory issue from the unionist western saharawi perspective. 'Western Sahara Territory Project' aims to make it balanced according to UN resolutions and reports. My community (unionist western saharawi) feels a bit frustrated about the fact there is no presence of unionism in the Western Sahara Territory on Wikipedia.

How would this be different from the existing Wikipedia:WikiProject Western Sahara? John Carter (talk) 20:27, 7 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi John, this project will be the voice of unionism in the Western Sahara Territory. The actual project supports separatism. As unionist western saharawi, I don't identify myself and my community with the actual Western Sahara Project. It's a room of one and only one version of the story and it hurts my community who is representing the majority in the region. The new project is a way to make it balanced, to show to wikipedians there are maybe people supporting separatism but there are also those who support unionism. Thanks. --BirLahlou (talk) 12:42, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It is useful to be able to recognize on this platform the different voices and views associated with the conflict of Western Sahara. Belonging to the disputed territory, I think that such a proposal could help ensure the presence of, at least, more than one position as it is the case on the ground --Smara2012 (talk) 10:03, 21 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I propose this is not done for the following reason. This proposed project would exist solely to pursue a POV agenda related to 'unionism'. No real need for a separate project has been identified and the topics/areas covered by this project have an existing project at Wikipedia:WikiProject Western Sahara.
