Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
I believe that geometry is large enough of a topic to warrant its own WikiProject.

Discussion edit

  • @Writehydra, you seem to be new here, with under 50 edits so far, and you haven't yet made significant contributions to any geometry articles. Your only relevant contribution to date is the draft Draft:Obround, which is an unsourced stub duplicate of Stadium (geometry). I'd recommend you spend a while trying to get real experience with the primary work of article editing before trying to start a new social project. If you need help, WikiProject Mathematics has several editors with interest/experience in geometry who could help you out. –jacobolus (t) 08:02, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • In addition to what jacobolus wrote, projects need active editors, not a significant domain of content. You should be able to point to a group discussion where the desirability of the project is established. AFAICS, that has not happened for this project. — Charles Stewart (talk) 08:31, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • At most, make this a taskforce/workgroup of WikiProject Mathematics. We don't need more stand-alone wikiprojects that overlap with others; it just bleeds participation away from more general ones, and usually leads to yet another essentially dead subtopical project after a year or so.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  11:35, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • We already have WP:WPM that may be discussed in the geometry articles per @Jacobolus. As far as I'm concerned, geometry is the study of an object in any dimension, and this encompasses the polyhedrons and higher polytopes. Considering creating a so-called new WikiProject Geometry, my impression is that some WikiProjects become blatantly nugatory to exist, such as WP:3TOPE and WP:4TOPE.
