This is the staging and nomination page for the Appalachia Portal Did you know... (DYK) section. For general information (much of which does not apply here) see WP:DYK, this is mostly applicable for the spirit, goals, and formatting of DYK entries.

Nominating for Appalachia DYK

edit

To make a proposal for Appalachia's DYK, post the entry into the talk page. There a reviewer will approve, request some changes to, or decline your hook(s). Once approved, the reviewer will place the chosen hook into the staging area where the hooks are finalized and placed in the queue.

Each day, five hooks appear on the Appalachia Portal's DYK section. Any given set of hooks has no time limit for being on the portal page. The hooks are replaced after at least a day has passed since the queue has five or more hooks ready.

Once a hook is removed from the portal page, it should be placed under the header corresponding to the month and year in which the hook was first placed onto the portal page. A hook, or a new hook from the same article, can be reused after a year has passed since its most recent use. When a hook is reused, it should be placed back into the queue and have (reused) placed after the article title.

The format for all hook nominations is:

[[Article name]], hook nom 1:
... that (hook)?
hook nom 2:
... that (hook)?
hook nom #:
... that (hook)?

there is no minimum or maximum hook ideas

General requirements

edit
