Curate Africa' - is a pan-African online photographic project that is curated across several themes that, over time, will interrogate such diverse subjects as African cities, notions of play, place and citizenship, trade routes and religion. Part of the Centre for Curating the Archive at the University of Cape Town (UCT), Curate Africa takes place in the virtual space, and seeks to source, present and foreground images and participation of photographers across the continent. It makes use of new technology to allow for new approaches as to how we think about Africa. It sets out to mark a departure from histories of representation concerned with African people, places and realities.[1]
