Welcome to the WikiAfrica Incubator.
The WikiAfrica Incubator is designed to support new authors as they create their first articles in Wikipedia. If you are newcomer of Wikipedia and you would like to write something about Africa, you can start your article here and we try to help you write it in compliance with Wikipedia principles and rules. If you have any questions related to writing articles, you can ask them on WikiAfrica Help desk. Create a new article in the WA-Incubator
This is exciting! You are going to post your first article. Here are some guidelines and a detailed description of what to consider when planning your first article.
To create a new article:
- Enter the title of new article after the following words: "Wikipedia:WikiAfrica/Stubs/"
- If you want to write the article in a language other than English, enter the language first, then / then the tile of your new article, e.g. Swahili/'name of article'
- Press the Start an Article button under the field.

Basic rules and principles of WA Incubator
Remember that an article can be moved in main namespace only if it contains no:
- vandalism;
- lies or untruths living persons;
- glaringly doubtful statements;
- copyright violations;
- conspicuously advertisements, PR or spam;
- content forking, or multiple separate articles giving details on the same subject.
Your article will be deemed appropriate if it:
- has contemporary information, or does not only consist of old information;
- fits into at least one category;
- has no grammar mistakes and if the text is formatted using Wiki markup.
The basic time period given to new authors for writing an article is about two months. If a new author is sure that the article is ready, he can mark the article using special template, and participants of the project will check it. If an author forgets about the article for a month, it will automatically be marked as forgotten by bot and nominated for reviewing by participants of the project.
