A somewhat baffling template that does not appear to be in use. Eliyak T·C 21:27, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Delete, template's sole purpose, though not explained well, is to insert an HTML comment at the top of certain category pages to explain why there are (separate from this template) category links there. Recommendation on the talk page if we keep this is to use more visible markup, but I don't see why we need it at all. TwelveBaud (what? ↹ what'd I do?) 16:52, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While almost all of the same reasons from the Seconds From Disaster discussion apply here, the Mayday template -- even if there were no references to the show -- allows users to navigate through comparatively notable accidents and incidents involving commercial aircraft, paring the list down from 75 years' worth (going by number of headings) to 45 episodes' worth. This allows a Wikipedia user to quickly browse through unusual accidents and incidents.
