Wikipedia:Scientific peer review/Motor neurone disease

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) edit

This article has become relatively stable in terms of content over the past few months and from my point of view is factually quite accurate. However, I think the tone is somewhat inconsistent, verging between scientific prose and lay terms. A major consideration is the degree of overlap / redundancy with the article Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. We have been unable to sort this one out on discussion pages. The concern is that our US-based readers/editors will go to ALS whilst UK-based readers/editors will go to MND. As they're the same condition 85%+ of the time this seems a bit silly. So, things that could do with consideration:

  • Suggestions for sorting the ALS/MND issue
  • Fact checking
  • Critique of the article's structure
  • Language used; is it too technically written for Wikipedia?

Many thanks for any views, I look forward to your input. --PaulWicks 09:12, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
