editTule Desert geography
editIs the Tule Desert (Nevada) part of the Great Basin Desert, Mojave Desert, or neither? It should be on the List of North American deserts but I'm not sure where to put it. -- Beland (talk) 08:16, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- I've been flipping back and forth between different maps and it sure seems like the borders to deserts are not well-defined. If the coordinates in our article are correct, the Tule is just north of the line separating Utah and Arizona. According to this map, that puts it in the Mojave, but according to our map in Great Basin Desert, it puts it in the Great Basin. Those are just a couple of handy examples; there are plenty of maps online showing the dividing line in either area. Sorry, I know that's not helpful. Maybe someone at the United States Geological Survey could provide a definitive answer? Matt Deres (talk) 20:37, 19 October 2021 (UTC)
