What's log232?

This was courtesy of our refdesk-spamming IP friend, but now I'm curious. It's been forever since I did anything with logarithms, and unlike all the other items in his recent batch of spamming, I don't easily understand it. The logarithm article makes me think logxy = z if xz = y (in which case, log232 = 5), but am I correct or incorrect? Nyttend (talk) 23:08, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
