editWhy can't I edit this address bar in IDM?
editMy download in IDM software got stopped because the owner of the link changed the download address, So I need to replace the old with new one. But IDM not allowing me to do: here Rizosome (talk) 06:13, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
- I don't use IDM but that doesn't look to be the place to change the download URL. If it's possible to change it, it's probably somewhere else. But it's also possible IDM simply doesn't support changing the URL of an existing download and you will need to start again. (Well you could either hack the data files, hack it in memory while running, or use a proxy or similar to redirect it in the background.) Nil Einne (talk) 18:26, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
What download manager are you using then? Anyway, it got fixed by restarting the system. Rizosome (talk) 11:31, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- Do you mean you can change the URL after restarting? If so is it possible you were still trying to download the file before? IDM may not allow you to change the URL when the file is trying to download even if it isn't working. You may need to stop the download or whatever. Nil Einne (talk) 22:02, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
flaky wi-fi
edithello, if a phone or a tablet, say, loses connection several times an hour and reconnects, does that compromise wi-fi security (significantly or at all)? my thinking is that when the device and the router exchange... stuff, each time the device tries to re-authenticate, there's just more data to pick off (bigger sample size) and more opportunity to do so Aecho6Ee (talk) 19:33, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
