editHow do you make an index listing that spans multiple pages in Microsoft word?
editI've been creating an index for a work, and I want some of the listings within the index to span multiple pages. Ideally, I'd like such a listing to look like this:
- Wikipedia………14-17
Instead, every multi-page entry I've created looks like this:
- Wikipedia Error! Not a valid bookmark in entry on page 17
What am I doing wrong here? I've been highlighting the texting, going to "Mark Entry" in the References section, and using the Page Range option. It wants me to enter a bookmark, but every book mark I've tried (including ones offered by the program and ones entered manually) just result in the error message. Update: Never-mind, I've figured out how to do this. If anyone else is having this problem, you need to first highlight then bookmark the text (the bookmark button can be found under the insert tab; its just about dead-center in the links column). When bookmarking, create a name and then use this nab when you index the text. Once you've done this, the page range will display in the index without any error message. If anyone has any questions regarding this, feel free to drop me a message on my talk page (even if you are reading this many years in the future). Spirit of Eagle (talk) 16:51, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
