Browser PDF problem edit
If I go to this site, click on any "info" in the info column, and then click on "View tournament flyer", it should load a PDF, but it just sits there for me on this computer, in IE, Firefox, or Chrome. I can load other PDFs and it will work on other computers. Some little something must be wrong on my computer, but what is it and how can it be fixed? - Since "info" brings up a different page for each tournament you searched for, it is impossible to try to reproduce your results unless you give the URL for a specific tournament page. For example, on the info page http://tournaments.acbl.org/schedule.php?tourid=24075, "View tournament flyer" links to http://web2.acbl.org/Tournaments/Ads/2016/06/1606112.pdf and this works for me. Does this one work for you? If not, maybe someone can look at this page and try to tell you what could be wrong. --69.159.61.172 (talk) 04:54, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

- Start->Settings->System->Default apps->Choose default apps by file type
In the left column, is there an entry for .pdf? If so, what does it have to the right?
In Firefox (although this wouldn't affect IE or Chrome), look at Tools->Add-ons->Plugins. Is "Adobe Acrobat" installed? If so, what is the option in the pull-down to the right? ―Mandruss ☎ 06:28, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

- (1) There is a pdf entry and it goes to Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. (2) In Firefox, Adove acrobat is installed. It says "ask to activate". I changed it to "always activate" but it is the same. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 17:12, 23 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Bubba73: That's exactly what I have, as far as it goes. Could be antivirus interference, and you could try turning off your AV protection temporarily. I'm using ZoneAlarm. You could also (1) save the PDF document to your computer (right-click on "View Tournament Flyer" and choose "Save Link As"), then (2) try to open the saved document from File Explorer, outside of any browser. ―Mandruss ☎ 21:59, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

Switch to Intel Iris Pro on MacBook Pro under Windows edit
This thread[1] seems to imply that you can't switch to only using the integrated graphics for Windows in a Macbook Pro.
But I found this tool[2] that claims it can do just that.

- For the interested developers: the source code linked earlier, gpu-switch, is a Windows port of the Linux GMux handler, documented here. That's not exactly official; in the spirit of promoting free software, it's kind of neat that you can open it up and inspect it, but even the Linux Kernel guys don't really know what this hardware is or what it does: quoting their own document, "(The MacPro6,1 2013 also has a gmux, however it is unclear why since it has dual GPUs but no built-in display.)" So the natural question emerges: should you be writing machine-code for a machine whose implementation is so unknown to you that you cannot even deduce its real purpose? Do you feel comfortable running a sloppily-ported Windows version of a Linux driver on an almost-correctly-matched Mac product? This kind of reckless experimental programming was never the purpose of free and open-source software. Nimur (talk) 16:01, 23 April 2016 (UTC)

- A tutorial for to learn how to make music...whenever I get some time... I had FL Studio 11, but it did not meet the requirements. I sought recommendation from you guys a while ago, the two sub sections entitled are/were from the recommendations. I bought the two some time ago, but didn't have a CD player to copy them on PC. I got a DVD-RW now, copied all of my CDs and now looking for tutorials for the two stated. I'd be happy if you guys could recommend a tutorial guide...I have internet usage issue...searching for the right website would be difficult, plus I don't have a clue about the softwares... -- Apostle (talk) 21:37, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- What kind of music? A tutorial that teaches you how to make speedcore is not very useful if you want to make jazz. What kind of internet usage issue? Are you able to use YouTube without problems? - Something that takes you from basic to advance stage step by step, e.g., [5] & [6]. Genre is not so important, its for home use, just to reminisce my school times/days...
- Internet is 'pay bite as you go', in the country that I'm currently in - Yes, I know, the people are stupider though! I usually stay steady with my connect/disconnect button, e.g., every time I'm going to a website that takes a lot of kbs/mbs, as soon as I see the words, I disconnect it... If you have any website with words and still pictures (just like the FL studio's one linked above) let me know.

- I recommend that you explain the situation with your internet connection in a new section on this page, and people will probably give you advice on how to deal with this. For example, it is possible to browse the internet while blocking a lot of stuff (e.g. images & javascript), and that drastically reduces the amount of information you need to download in order to use a website. Do you use software to track your internet usage? If not, then maybe that is a good idea. The pages I linked to are quite small, but video is always rather big. And most of the tutorials for programs like this are video in DVD format because it is far easier to show people what to do so that they can copy it and hear the change instead of writing down what they need to do. What I would recommend in your case is probably to get 2 ebooks, one for Ableton and one for Cubase. That way you won´t have to download so much, ebooks are usually a lot smaller than video. Did you read the Getting Started PDF included with Cubase? And the Ableton reference manual (in PDF format)? I assume that when you downloaded those two programs you also downloaded two big PDF files, or that they were included on the disc if you bought them on DVD-ROMs. If you prefer the video tutorials then you may be able to convince someone who has an internet connection to download them and send them to you. Thank you for your help and time so far. Looks like I have to wait (as usual) for it, when its time comes (as usual). I have FL Studio anyway, learnt. If I never get the time in the near future, than FL Studio will satisfy...- Btw, I have to keep the internet normal, just in case if anything very very very important appears (you guys guide me too...).

- It appears that the version on the page you link is a demo version of a full game. If you look at the menu, there is an option to get the full game. That link takes you to a page where you would pay for the full version. I can speak to the legitimacy of any of that, but the version you linked is a web-based demo.
