  No Wikipedia editing experience necessary. Tutoring will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers throughout the event. Please bring a laptop with you!

If you are keen to start learning about Wikipedia you can prepare for the event in 5 - 15 minutes with the following steps.

5 Minute Preparation edit

Create an Account edit

Select link on this page to create a Wikipedia Account. You will need an email address and a username to create an account.

Sign-in to the Edit-athon edit

To allow us to track the number of edits we make during the edit-athon, please sign in with your Wikipedia login to the dashboard. The passcode is: Writers. You only need to do this once.

15 Minute Preparation edit

Select an Article to Edit edit

Is there an article of an author that you are particularly interested in editing or writing? Go to our Articles to Edit section and select an author. Edit the page and add your username next to the author's name to let people know you are editing the article. See example below:
