The San Diego Public Library will be hosting an edit-a-thon at the San Diego Central Library focused on content relating to National Hispanic Heritage Month. All are encouraged to attend, however seating is limited. This will be the 103rd Wikipedia meetup in San Diego County.

Event Details
Learn to edit Wikipedia pages and contribute to making knowledge more accessible! Join us on Monday, September 25th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in editing and/or writing Wikipedia articles regarding Hispanic Heritage. Learn the basics of Wikipedia editing and learn more about influential Hispanic figures. All experience levels are welcome. It is highly recommended that participants create a Wikipedia account ahead of time.
The San Diego Wikimedians User Group, an affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation, will be giving a short tutorial on getting started with Wikipedia. Afterwards, we will begin editing! Computers will be available. Attendees may bring their own WiFi-enabled devices if they so desire, though in-room outlet space may be limited.

The San Diego Public Library is seeking experienced users/editors of Wikipedia to assist members of the public in editing Wikipedia.

 

Getting there edit

San Diego Central library is located in East Village, San Diego, and west of Interstate 5. It is encouraged that attendees plan in advance as parking underneath the library is not guaranteed. It is also northeast of the 12th & Imperial Transit Center, making it accessible to multiple San Diego Metropolitan Transit System options.

  • Vid2vid (talk · contribs) ..regerts (ruhguetz!) .. Regrets, I'll be out of town, not able to make it. Would we ever be able to share @SDPLPauline: 's presenting desktop PC screen (up front) to a live Zoom and/or YouTube live feed or something in the future? I know how to set those up if we want to go those routes. Then fellow group members who've moved away eg @Vahidmasrour: ..can still drop in virtually! Eh @ @RightCowLeftCoast: ? -From Peter {a.k.a.
