When and Where

The Wikipedia Modern Woman Edit-a-thon will take place at PARMER at Abrons Arts Center on August 2, 2015. This event will draw from the artists, writers, curators, filmmakers and other cultural producers whose work we have touched on over the course of Meredyth Sparks' The Ism that Dares Speak Its Name, a series of collaborative and public programs—discussion groups, screenings, a walking tour and Wikipedia edit-a-thon—that will explore the trajectories of the modern woman from the early 20th century through to current iterations in feminist art, music and political practices.

Presented in cooperation with +Feminism, the collective of Wikipedians organizing and hosting the Art+Feminism Wikipedia edit-a-thons over the past year to improve coverage of woman & the arts on Wikipedia & increase female editorship. This event will contribute this content to the public facing pages of Wikipedia and is open to all those with and without experience editing and all levels in between.
