This acts as a partner to the Dwarf Plant topic and is a subtopic of the rather massive Solar System one. -- Escape Artist Swyer Talk to me The mess I've made 13:56, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. The Solar System topic is already in the process of being broken up, and Planet is a more general topic that includes extrasolar and rogue planets. Serendipodous 13:57, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - any decisions made here need to be through consensus amongst the creators of the existing topics, not by drive-by nominations. Quote from above, "Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination" - rst20xx (talk) 17:19, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Unless you're making a point, in which case, well played - rst20xx (talk) 17:45, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Withdraw nom It's probably too similar to Solar System anyway. Sorry. -- Escape Artist Swyer Talk to me The mess I've made 20:12, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - If we are trying to make a point, I'll gladly oblige. There is nothing in the featured topic criteria that says this cannot or should not become a topic, and if people want to start that discussion, I am all for it. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 06:11, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose—the title of the topic is "Planets in the Solar System", but the lead article is the generic planet, covering the general concept and planets outside the solar system. Pagrashtak 13:45, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • A correct version of the topic should look like:
Main page Articles
Planet   Definition of planet ·   Extrasolar planet ·   Nebular hypothesis ·   Gas giant ·   Terrestrial planet ·   Planetary habitability
·   Dwarf planet ·   Asteroid/minor planet
with the last two optional; the obvious subtopic should be:
Main page Articles
Definition of planet   Planet·   Dwarf planet ·   Small solar system body ·   2006 definition of planet ·   Cleared the neighbourhood ·   Hydrostatic equilibrium ·   Double planet ·
Geocentric model ·   Heliocentrism ·   Brown dwarf
Second row being optional. Nergaal (talk) 19:59, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
