Original – Tatting is a handcraft dating to early nineteenth-century Europe. A shuttle (pictured) is used to guide thread through loops to make knots, producing a highly durable lace which can be used in collars, doilies and other decorative items.

Reason: clear image of the dying art of tatting (a type of lace-making).
