Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Java Island Architecture
I took this in the summer of 2003 -- it's a housing development in (or very near) Amsterdam on (if I remember correctly) a relatively new man-made island. The architecture is all the more striking for being made available to low-income people.

- Maybe it's because I live in the Netherlands, but I don't find the architecture particularly striking. - Mgm|(talk) 10:52, September 7, 2005 (UTC)
- I agree with Mgm; it's not particularly striking. The image quality is also lowered by the bland left-hand side: especially the bottom corner. Jdhowens90 19:17, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose. Cropping would help. Illustrates Java Island Architecture well, but not striking enough to be FP. - Jpo 00:10, September 8, 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose - not a particular striking shot, sorry -- Chris 73 Talk 07:34, September 9, 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose - it does not clearly show architecture. That huge grey-brown area is very distracting from the houses. Renata3 18:16, 9 September 2005 (UTC)
- Oppose - as the others say, too much road in the pic - MPF 21:40, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
