Original – Ice eggs (diameter 5–10 cm) on Stroomi Beach, northern Estonia, at temperature of minus 15–20 degrees Celsius

Reason: Lead image in the Ice eggs article. The technical quality isn't ideal, but this is a rare phenomenon that occurs at low temperatures. Not a common occurrence to photograph. See the Commons nom: [1] for a discussion of the technical quality.
