Original – "The Brown-eared bulbul (Hypsipetes amaurotis) is a medium-sized bulbul which is found from the Russian Far East (including Karafuto (or Sakhalin)), northeastern China, the Korean Peninsula, and Japan, south to Taiwan and the Babuyan and Batanes island chains in the north of the Philippines..."

Reason: Nice photo already featured on Commons. It recently replaced the previous lead image for the article and I believe the significant increase in resolution (from 800 x 640 pixels to 2,661 x 1,778 pixels) is sufficient to let us waive the 7-day guideline.

@Gazhiley: Looks like SteinsplitterBot did something strange. The edit has been reverted. It may take a little while for the reversion to pass its way through the system so that the correct version of the image appears here. --Pine^✉ 19:29, 2 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
