OriginalDorothea Lange's "Broke, baby sick, and car trouble!", showing Missouri migrants to California in 1937.
Reason
A fine photograph by Dorothea Lange that helps get the desperateness of the dust bowl migrants across.

  • Comment The original file has been inverted for the reason unclear to me. Is it LoC that has the wrong inversion? Brandmeistertalk 16:26, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • @Brandmeister: It's on the file description page: The LoC has two scans, each mirror images of each other. I checked carefully, nd realised you can just see a sign in front of the jalopy, with enough letters visible to definitely say the original image was flipped, and the other (lower-quality) scan got it right. • Thanks. There's also some inscription on the box just above the trailer wheel, but it looks illegible to me. Brandmeistertalk 19:22, 8 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
        • Also, if you presume the line left (in this chirality) of the car in the background is the median line, it would be driving on the left if in the original chirality.
