Request for evaluation of article

edit

Before I move an article into the article space, I was wondering if any contributors out there could evaluate the article. I don't want it deleted!

I am still confused as to how this works over the web, so some more explanation may be in order. The topic sounds important enough to have an article with a couple of independent write ups. So it would go to article space, if you remove your signature! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:43, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

TheTapMusic.com

edit

I am wanting to write an article on TheTapMusic.com - a music platform for underground artists that is currently in Beta.

It has been mentioned on Digital Music News but everything I write seems to be plagued as promotional?

Could you find reliable sources that show us the site is indeed notable? One problem is that there has been no evidence to suggest that this site is notable enough to warrant its own article, and by providing sources, you will provide that information. She's The First Request for Evaluation

edit

Hello.

I have made a draft about the non-profit organization She's The First. I would like to request for an evaluation on the article 1)to make sure I haven't violated the NPOV, and 2)if so, is it ready for the main page?

Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Haengbokhada/She%27s_the_First_draft

Thank you. Haengbokhada (talk) 17:19, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This looks reasonable. But please delete all the quotes off the references. People can click the link to read the original text. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:14, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. But is it possible to retain a few of the quotes which might help lessen any issues about NPOV? Haengbokhada (talk) 10:21, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
None of the quotes are critical top the topic. The idea is to rewrite it in your own words and not to compose an article from sentences written by others. You should be able to convey the facts or opinions of other people using your won text. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:40, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Will do that. Thank you again. Very much appreciated Haengbokhada (talk) 10:55, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have moved the She's The First article to mainspace and working on it for clean-up and expansion. I am also requesting for review. I would appreciate your comments and suggestions about it. Thank you very much
Another thing, how can it be removed from the requested articles space? Haengbokhada (talk) 07:11, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Are you talking about WP:RA? FOr this you just go and edit the section and remove the line, but it does not seem to list your article. If you want to delete User:Haengbokhada/She's the First draft you can add a {{db-author}} tag to the redirect page. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:42, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Another editor did it, and I'm really grateful. Haengbokhada (talk) 04:02, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I want to create an article on Black Women Filmmakers.

edit

Hello,

I wanted to create an article on Black Women Filmmakers. Do you think that it would be possible to get it live on wikipedia. What category would this article fall under?

Thank you,

FramandaFramanda (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:12, 7 December 2010 (UTC).[reply]

It sounds to be an artificial slicing up of the topic. And it probably will also mean "American" as that is where the distinction between black and others is important. Have other people written books or magazine articles on this exact topic? However you may be able to make a list article that links the notable women. Request for evaluation and more

edit

Hi.

I have started an article and put it on the live page by mistake. I thought it's part of my user page - my apologies. So I'm requesting for an evaluation about the article if I'm doing it right again, and if it needs to be deeted on the live page and possible to start on my user page instead. Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanti_Bhavan

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Haengbokhada (talk) 04:14, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi.

I started a new article but put it by mistake on the live page. I don't want it deleted, though. But then, I want feedback before I continue working on the article. Here's the link:

Thanks a lot. Haengbokhada (talk) 05:28, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, this should be fine, as long as it is not a copyright violation, genuine articles on high schools can normally stay around. Please keep improving it. It could become part of the schools project. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:07, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

European Student Think Tank

edit

Interesting organization, established Summer 2010. It has not gained a lot of attention yet, however, so the only available source is their own website and the website of their webdesigner: www.studentthinktank.eu

Do you think this is worth writing an article about? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eustudentthinktank (talkcontribs) 14:43, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If no one else has written about them, they do not pass the notability test and an article would be deleted. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:49, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Evolver One

edit

I am thinking of doing an article on the South African rock band now known as Evolver One, but I'm not sure whether it would qualify to be published on Wikipedia. There are quite a number of online newspaper articles, interviews, videos and other blog posts about them but no single page with all the information in one as yet. They also have their own website, but there is not a large amount of information site there either.

Please let me know if I should continue my research and eventually post and article on here, or, if it does not qualify for Wikipedia, please inform of other options I may take if possible.

Thank you in advance. EvolverOneFan (talk) 15:44, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the online newspapers are independent, ie it is not a press release and they have a whole page on the topic, then it would be notable. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:52, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
