Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/John of Nepomuk

  • Densely written, not accessable, missing information.
  • Is there anything about his birth, parentage, raising, eduction, etc? Where are the biographical details?
  • Third paragraph starts with "The issue was". What issue? No issue is previously discussed.
  • Third paragraph is pretty dense reading. What ordinary reader could make heads or tails of this stuff? You need a degree in medaevil european history. The article should stand on its own.
  • Fifth paragraph ASSUMES legend. This is slightly POV. Anyway it is bad structure because no "legend" has been described yet, but now we are going to discuss the origins of the legend? The legend -- and it's refutation -- is a necessary part of the article, but it is not reasonably presented here.
  • Czech name is (Svatý) Jan Nepomucký

Here are some outside sources:

Details of his torture may have included hot irons and cutting out his tongue.

There is an intriguing bit of information here: "When his body was exhumated, in his scull the exhumators found unusual substance which looked like tongue. They considered it as a miracle. In 1980s the anthropologist investigated this "tongue“ and they discovered that it is a part of brain – brain tissue. You can see it in St Vitus’ Cathedral at Prague Castle where Jan Nepomucký was buried." He was exumed in the 18th century and his body parts tested in 1980's.
