Society (economics, government & politics, law, media, royalty & nobility, war) edit

Anybody have any ideas for how we can do this? At the moment, I'm at a loss, but I'll try to think of something. – ClockworkSoul 15:49, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • I added an idea above. Lots of lil' barnstars making up a big ol' barnstar. AWWWWWW ^^; -- grm_wnr Esc 02:48, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Interesting. I never thought of that. Not sure if this works for this category though. -- Riffsyphon1024 03:33, Apr 2, 2005 (UTC)
      • I think it can work, since it takes up many people to form a society. This idea is the perfect example. Zscout370 04:13, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Definitely interesting and very clever: it's nothing that I would have ever thought of. – ClockworkSoul 14:05, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
      • I thought of using all kinds of different barnstars at first. Pro: Emphasizes the diversity of society. Con: Looks less like a actual barnstar, and is also a LOT more work. If you're interested, I could make one though. -- grm_wnr Esc 17:04, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)
        • I really liked the idea. I don't think it will be necessary to create a star composed of several different barnstars, it might end up looking a bit "psychedelic". Just one thing: I don't want to sound crazy, but I was thinking that the image could be perfected in it's center. I mean, we can clearly identify the ends of the "bigger star" that is being formed by the smaller ones, as well as the general shape of it, but the central hole of this big star is sort of deformed. If we could round it up a little, it would be perfect. Alternatively, we could make it look like a "solid" star, with no hole at all. Regards, Redux 02:55, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
          • Like this? -- grm_wnr Esc 17:32, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
            • Much better. -- Riffsyphon1024 17:38, Apr 8, 2005 (UTC)
              • Now it looks great. I think we have a winner. Good job Grm! Regards, Redux 22:23, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
            • Very interesting! Also, as an aside, I put the category subtopics up the heading. Maybe it can help us if we have trouble decide against this star. – ClockworkSoul 22:41, 8 Apr 2005 (UTC)
      • It is a keeper in my book. Zscout370 (talk) 23:35, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

All right then. Last 48 hours for any objections/suggestions that might change the award. Then it will be added to the official list and this discussion will be closed (it's not like it's been all that active anyways). Regards, Redux 05:38, 8 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Back in business: I don't know if anyone will even read this, so if no one answers in the next couple of days, I'll just consider my proposal accepted and go ahed with the installation. It's about the name of the award, which we forgot to discuss: I propose calling it "The High Life Barnstar". Ideas? Suggestions? Regards, Redux 13:39, 8 Jun 2005 (UTC)
How about The Human Societies Barnstar or just The Society Barnstar since there's already a Daily Life/Personal Life category? Sango123 02:19, Jun 15, 2005 (UTC)
I can settle for The Society Barnstar. Seems good enough. How about it Sango? Anyone else wants to pitch in? Regards, Redux 19:18, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Go ahead with the Society Barnstrar. Bratschetalk 5 pillars 22:28, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)
Sounds great. Sango123 17:39, Jun 26, 2005 (UTC)

All done. Check out the new entry at the Barnstars on Wikipedia page and see if you (anybody) like the scope description I entered — We had not discussed this here, but to avoid any more delays, I took the liberty of creating it as I wrote the entry. I do believe that it turned out quite satisfactory though. Regards, Redux 01:13, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)
