Vandana Srinivasan (activist)

Vandana Srinivasan is a social activist who campaigns through art for protecting the environment from plastic [1][2] and also for eye donation.[3] She is also the founder of Chasin Dreams which is behind the development of a headphone which would use computer vision & AI technology to detect objects and obstacles in the user's path and provide audio feedback to guide the users around them.[4]

Social Impact Initiatives

She is known for her first of its kind environmental art using cloth developed from recycled plastic bottles.[5]

Her artistic achievements include the digital artworks she created for Spice artwork, Consumer Rights Day, World heart day, Diabetes day and World remembering day for road traffic victims. Vandana's state-of-the-art drawing about road traffic victims which she did for World traffic day won her a lot of applause. The Kerala Police felicitated her for her artistic endeavour and creativity.[6]

Vandana's campaigning on Eye donation awareness started with Giridhar hospital for two years. As a part of the campaign, she met the Ernakulam District Collector, Kerala Legislative Opposition Leader, Doctors Professors, etc. Vandana along with her friends organised an awareness program on World sight day at the Kerala High Court. She also gave interviews to the club FM channel on White cane awareness day. Her first of its kind of unique environmental art was featured in news medias including Malayala Manorama, Indian Express, Club FM, 24 news, Kerala vision etc.[7]
