Hi! Just wanted to introduce myself and let you know your user name rocks, especially if it's a reference to the Single File song. I'll see you in class! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nativ32 (talkcontribs) 20:11, 6 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thanx! Actually it is in reference to a Super Nintendo game, Zombies ate my neighbors. I am an old school gamer :) Zombiesatemyneighbors (talk) 19:28, 12 September 2014 (UTC)--Reply

Hi there,

I’m surprised to hear that youth in Iraq isn’t a page yet! Something to think about, moving forward, is how to integrate your article in to Wikipedia. What pages will be relevant to link to? Are there pages that already exist that you can integrate new information about your page into?

I will also warn you about using sources from Drake’s EBSCO services. It’s totally and completely a good idea to use sources from here. But as a gentle reminder don’t provide online links to the articles because it won’t work unless wiki users also have access to Drake’s sources.

This is advice that I left for Hatigges on her page about starting a new article that I think will also be super helpful for you: It may also be useful to talk about the institutional structure of things like the education and the legal system. When can people vote? Join a political party? How many years are there of required schooling? I think that answering questions like this will help give readers a context for all the statistics and information you’re requiring. Like, imagine if someone didn’t know that you couldn’t vote in the United States until you were 18. Wouldn’t it seem like youth were really politically apathetic? I know coding can be a really challenging part about Wikipedia, so it might be helpful if you find a structure for a Wikipedia article on youth that you like and want to mimic and to copy and paste the article into your sandbox (deleting their information and leaving the bare bones).

Best of luck!

A cup of coffee for you!

Hi, ZAMN! I echo Abbey's concern about using Ebsco links as a citation. We will talk in class about using what is called a doi number or isbn number to link to journals and books in WP.

I would like for you to take a couple of steps. Check out an already established 'Youth in' article. I recommend Youth in Denmark and Youth in the Czech Republic. Also, look at how Hatigges has imported the format from another 'youth in' article to use for her new article on Nigeria: sandbox. Can you do this to import the structure for your sandbox?

Finally, I encourage you to look at statistics from Unesco on youth in Iraq. General sources from UN, the World Bank, and the CIA could have facts that might be useful, too. I look forward to seeing your progress! Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 20:13, 4 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
