Shi Mei Lin

edit

Greetings. You've re-added a reference to Shi Mei Lin to the Wu style tai chi chuan article. While it is true that she is a disciple of Ma Yueh-liang, we can't list every disciple of the Wu family in our articles. If she is well known she could be listed at Ma Yueh-liang, but if we listed every disciple that has their own school and teaches the public, I'd be listed too. But we aren't allowed to promote ourselves on Wikipedia. What you are doing seem like advertising for the school you yourself go to, so I've removed the edits and would ask you to read WP:Conflict of interest. Please know that this isn't personal, that I think Wu style tai chi is great, and that I also think it can benefit the entire world. But as much as we want to document (and even promote) Wu style, I am also a Wikipedia administrator, and Wikipedia has standards for inclusion and a logic for article priority that we have to follow.

Here are some links that explain how things work:

Thanks, and best regards. --Bradeos Graphon Βραδέως Γράφων (talk) 00:44, 6 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Yang Yu-ting

edit

A tag has been placed on Yang Yu-ting requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Bongomatic 08:45, 7 November 2008 (UTC)Reply
