Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Please accept our apologies here. I didn't know we couldn't add our website to our username. Please give us a chance and revoke the restriction. I was intending to actually use this account to add content to wikipedia in the future.

It is not just your username. You also created your userpage with: Our Company http://www.playerup.com PlayerUp.com

Are you interested in helping to build the encyclopedia without adding any content related to you or your organization? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 02:57, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

You say "we". How many people operate this account? Is this a group account? You are not allowed to have a username that is your company name, and adding your url to your userpage seemed promotional.

Feel free to monitor this account. I can assure you no links will be posted with the exception of referencing links if we attempt to edit content (not related to our company).

Okay, so just to be clear: This is a single person operating this account. This account does not represent an organization. Your promise not to add content or urls to articles about yourself, your website or organizations that you are affiliated with. Is this correct? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:15, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Please respond below without making another unblock request. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:16, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Confirmed.

Okay. Happy editing. :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:31, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you.

You are welcome. Thank you for your understanding. If there is anything you ever need or have any questions, please ask. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:34, 27 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Your username

edit

This is a "soft block". You can create a new account.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you.

Sorry, I was having a busy day and forgot about your username. Please read the blue box above to handle that. Cheers. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 03:21, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I would prefer to not use my full name on wikipedia updates. The username I am using now is fine. Didn't put a .com or anything in it. Should be fully acceptable. I already fully agreed to not write anything regarding company information. You can clearly see I haven't. There should be no issue here. I would ask that you please stop restricting me. PlayerUp (talk) 06:48, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Nobody is asking you to use your full name (or any version of your personal name), just a username that does not appear to be the name of a company, group or organization. Not writing about the company is great, but even then, Wikipedia rules still prohibit your current username. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 06:57, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Then I guess you pick the username you want then since I have no say. Change it to whatever. It doesn't matter to me what it is since I can't pick my preference. Please hurry with this. Have already invested too much time on this. All I wanted to do was update a few pages and I have had to deal with being blocked twice instead. PlayerUp (talk) 07:21, 29 April 2016 (UTC)
