Scantag rule requests and discussion
This page is for discussion of the Scantag system for automated pattern-matching and tagging of Wikipedia articles. To request a new rule, please use the button below. Consider the following before requesting a new rule: Scantag rules do not run on new edits sequentially, and should not be used for rules that need to be run to check edits. If this is what you want, please see edit filter requests. Rules may take a long time - measured in weeks - to start running from the time that they are accepted; it may take some time to set up the rule. Scantag is for non-urgent tagging only. Scantag rules will not modify the body of an article; they will only append or prepend maintenance tags. If you need something which will modify the body of an article, you should consider AWB.
