Censorship and sabotage edit

Xihe, like you and apparently many other users, I've been having problems with Eiorgiomugini. Yesterday, I noticed that he's been arguing with you about 卷 in Extensive Gleanings of the Taiping Era, so I posted what I intended as a helpful hint for you on the discussion page[1]. However, if you'll check the history, you'll see that he censored my post. I'm posting again directly on your page because he can't repress it. Here's what he didn't want you to read.

"I hope I can save you from wasting time because Eiorgiomugini picked the same fight with me in the Shiming. If you check the edit history from [2] to [3], you will see that he refused to listen to reason or compromise. I'd suggest a call for consensus."

With some copy and paste, here's the relevant edit history. K: "eight volumes (juàn 卷, "roll; scroll") … 27 chapters (piān 篇)"[4] E (or someone at the same IP address 202.156.6.54): "8 volumes … 27 chapters"[5] K: "27 chapters (篇)"[6] E: "8 volumes … 27 chapters"[7] E: "8 volumes (unknown chapters)"[8] K: "27 chapters (篇)"[9] E: "8 volumes (unknown chapters)"[10] K: "27 chapters (篇)"[11] E: "8 volumes (unknown chapters)"[12] E: "27 chapters … eight volumes"[13]

You can also see our exchange on the discussion page. [14] "Fourth … As a non-native speaker of English, I assume you understand why it's necessary to give the Chinese (character at minimum) for translations like "chapter" that can be 章, 節, 卷, 篇, etc." "Thrid … And no a chapter can be 章, 節, 卷, 篇 are depended on different book, not necessarily to indicated, infact there's no rules that tries on this." On this Shiming discussion page, note that he additionally deleted my compliment: "putting some of your energies into constructive purposes. Thanks adding the Wei 2000 reference and information."

After repeatedly trying to compromise, I left the Shiming unfinished and started working on some other dictionaries, but our nemesis has been following my edit history. I'm a Wikipedia newbie and don't know how to deal with such editorial intransigence. What would you suggest? Best wishes. --Keahapana 02:01, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm even more of a newbie. For the present, I'm ignoring him, but agree that he should be sanctioned. Xihe 04:51, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've also tried ignoring him and don't want to waste time with an unreasonable editor, but I'm not going to let a bully control the content in Wikipedia. I'll put back what he tried to censor. Also, I found a more specific translation than "volume" for 卷: "fascicle," which I'll start using. Keahapana 21:49, 5 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good for you. For my part, life is too short to deal with 小人 like him.Xihe 10:57, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I guess we're supposed to go through Content disputes, unless we believe the behavior in question is a matter of egregious policy violation -Xihe 03:15, 7 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

小人? 对了。Here's a link to let you know that I've requested a third opinion. Best wishes. --Keahapana 21:27, 9 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Xihe, I wanted to update you that he's requested mediation and I asked for assistance.[15] Best wishes. --Keahapana 20:56, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
