April 2024 edit

Hello, I'm REDACTED403. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to Edenderry because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. -REDACTED403 (talk) 13:05, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there , would the link to the relevant schools "History" subpage be appropriate? I believe that it would fit quite well within the education section of the Edenderry wiki page as it provides relevant history about St.Marys secondary school's historical role in the local education, however if you think this wouldn't be helpful i'd be glad to know. Thanks 👍. Xcalliber21 (talk) 13:17, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Edenderry. Wikipedia is not a collection of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links may include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Ternera (talk) 21:23, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi there , would the introduction of my link not be beneficial as it is not simply striving to advertise or promote the website , but it is providing a valid resource for further information? If I am wrong I'd be glad to know if I could do something else , such as write text citing that link instead. Thanks! Xcalliber21 (talk) 22:32, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
