Speedy deletion nomination of MyEdu edit

A tag has been placed on MyEdu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Speedy deletion nomination of MyEdu edit

A tag has been placed on MyEdu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Article creation edit

It would seem that you are trying to re-develop a page that was speedily deleted yesterday. Creating the page with a {{hangon}} tag and no content is not the way to proceed. What I suggest you do is start by developing the text of the article as a sub-page of your user page, say User:Wtferguson/MyEdu, and then transfer it to the article namespace once it has some meaningful content. But do remember that if you do not establish the notability of the subject, the article risks being deleted again. Regards Jimmy Pitt talk 15:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

In fact, while I was writing that, it seems an admin has done just that, and transferred to page to your user space. Jimmy Pitt talk 15:33, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:MyEdu FullLogo.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:MyEdu FullLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.
  • If you believe the bot has made an error, please turn it off here and leave a message on my owner's talk page.

Your submission at Articles for creation edit

MyEdu, which you submitted to Articles for creation, has been created.

  • If you would like to help us improve this process, please consider leaving us some feedback.

Thank you for helping Wikipedia!  Chzz  ►  17:15, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why your article was moved edit

Basically, Wikipedia has evolved a sort of quality control system, which is explained on the Articles for creation page together with a background article at the local newspaper explaining why anonymous IP's aren't allowed to create new articles. It's not that we don't want new editors or new articles; we just want to make sure articles are up to scratch. Green Giant (talk) 17:35, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

pick-a-prof edit

I suggest that you add the blurb to the MyEdu article. It doesn't make sense to have separate articles for what is, in essence, the same entity. Best, Pichpich (talk) 19:12, 18 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
