This article (Timescape Cosmology) was requested on the Astronomy Requested Article page. In the course of my research, I have just discovered the page Inhomogeneous Cosmology, which seems to be the same thing. I will probably request a merge. Thoughts welcome. Feedback

Hi WritingMan - some feedback on what you've done so far. Some formatting things. I made a few example edits to show what I meant

• The article title and any other version of the title should be bolded. Generally speaking, that's the only thing bolded in an article.
• Article titles and section headers use sentence case - only capitalise the first word and any proper nouns. Neither should start with "The" unless it's the title of a book or something such.
• Honorifics like "Professor" and "Dr" aren't used.
• Link any terminology that isn't obvious to the average reader
• The Wikipedia style guide species straight quotes rather than curly quotes. There's a preference (though not a hard and fast rule) to only use quotes for quotations.

On the issue of sourcing, the standard is to have at least one reference per paragraph, and it should be at the end of the paragraph, assuming that it can support all the preceding text. The preference is for sources that support the statements over sources that point to the origins of the idea. So while there's nothing wrong with citing Wiltshire, it's not necessarily expected; it's more important to link to sources that can put his work in context. Question about title/merge

Hi Ian, I'm cranking on this article but have a question building on the merge question I originally asked. The article "timescape cosmology" was requested, and that is what I started with. However, timescape cosmology was proposed around 2007 by David Wiltshire and has since become only one of many cosmological models built around the "backreaction" of clusters and voids of matter in the universe on the spacetime around them. The "backreactionistas," including but not limited to Wiltshire, have since devised a new main model that does not focus on time differences between areas of the universe but rather local warping of the universe's shape. In other words, the focus of the article should be "backreaction cosmology" or, as that term has yet to be coined, "cosmological backreaction," with timescape being just one model under that.

So that is one question: what to call it.

The other is that, as I mentioned before, this other Wikipedia article called "Back-reaction," which is a stub discussing the general phenomenon of backreaction in a system (can be in any of the physical sciences) but also includes a brief but very vague and very mathematical section on cosmological implications. But backreaction cosmology is large enough to deserve its own article (as you can see by my article, which is only about 2/3 done in terms of length).

Thus, I think "Cosmological backreaction" should be the title, with "timescape cosmology" being both a section and, when searched, redirecting to this article. What do you think? And is there a way to rename the current article I'm writing or do I need to create a new one and just port everything over?

@WritingMan: Don't worry about the naming issue - you are free to move this to any name that doesn't yet exist. Redirects are easy to create, and they will help funnel readers and links to whichever page you'd like them to go to. As for the choice between "cosmological backreaction" and "backreaction cosmology" - I don't think it matters too much, because you can create a redirect from one to the other.
