Hello, I'm Sionk. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Findmypast, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Seems a bit harsh, Wolfie Smith was politely warned only two minutes ago! I'd simply suggest to them that the best place for comments (like those they added) is on the article's Talk page. Sionk (talk) 00:02, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Findmypast with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Ducknish (talk) 00:10, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am sorry for the reaction to you removing the text that I submitted. I thought it was someone else doing it. The information I have submitted is valid comment and verifiable with references and hyperlinks to supporting webpages, which I am trying to do now. I have tried to write a balanced report on what is an ongoing situation in order to inform, and I gathered that was what Wiki allowed you to do. There is nothing in what I have written which is untrue or unverifiable.

Well, I'm quite prepared to accept your apology. You are clearly upset with the changes to the Findmypast website (I discovered them yesterday too and wasn't impressed either). Unfortunately Wikipedia isn't the best place to make complaints against Findmypast unless the complaints have been picked up and reported in reliable sources, such as newspapers or magazines. The discussion forums you cited won't be considered as reliable jounalistic sources, I'm afraid. All the best! Sionk (talk) 00:40, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Sionk - thank you for understanding. Hopefully one of the papers will be picking this up, at which time I will possibly resubmit this report. It is all so sad really - just chasing the big US dollar and never mind the Brits - some of whom don't know if they have lost their family trees which were stored on FMP.Wolfie Smith (talk) 01:16, 11 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
