I thought you might like an explanation as to why your edits to Jajce were reverted. The inclusion of the name in Turkish is highly pertinent since the town, along with the rest of Bosnia was under Ottoman rule for centuries, as I'm sure you know. It is usual to also note the names used by former imperial powers in articles, for instance German place names in Bohemia, Polish names in Ukraine, Hungarian names in Slovakia and British names in India. There is no implication whatsoever that the name Jajce is actually Turkish in origin. What's more, the information you placed in your edit summary regarding the etymology would be a worthy addition to the article, under a new Name section. Remember to cite this though (although I'm sure you're right as it's almost identical to the Russian word for egg).
I've now had a look at some of your other edits and, although also well-intentioned I'm sure, I've at least partially reverted most of these. As above, it is normal to give names in a variety of languages or transliterations if pertinent. As this is English language Wikipedia, an English version of a personal name may be used if that is the name which has currency in English, even if the person in question would not themself have used that version. Be particularly careful if you change names in links as you are likely to break the link. If you do think names are presented incorrectly, this may be controversial so best to take the issue to the talk page before making changes.
One other thing, while I think of it, I'm assuming good faith but your username may end up causing you problems (see Wikipedia:Username policy). Where I'm from the term wog would be regarded as extremely offensive although I believe, for example, it can in some contexts be meant ironically or affectionately in Australia these days. Be warned that someone may take offence though. Mutt Lunker (talk) 21:30, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
