Welcome to WikiProject Politics

The Project isn't very active but hopefully that will change eventually. If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitiate to contact me. Best wishes. --Robert Harrisontalk contrib 04:24, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
Progressive Logic
editFirst of all let me welcome you to Wikipedia. Second I'll suggest a few links, Wikipedia Manual of Style, Wikipedia and using pictures, and How to edit pages.
Also here's a few suggestions, you can sign any comments on talk pages with ~~~~, don't bite any user's head off because they may have edited your article, these are everyone's articles, and go ahead and ask questions when you don't know. I'll go ahead and fix a few problems I see with Progressive Logic now and you can look at the history of the page to see the changes. Please ask me if you have any questions about any of the edits. (I'll post this on your talk page also so you see it, but please continue the conversation on my talk page, it keeps the conversation together) J\/\/estbrook 05:46, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- also the article in question is up for deletion here please take a few minutes and vote, but also make a small non-biased statement about why you'd like to keep the article J\/\/estbrook 15:02, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
- Hi there. Congratulations on keeping your cool. I encourage you to keep working with Jwestbrook to bring this article up to par. In the mean time I've retracted my vote. :) Happy Christmas, Hunnakah, or whatever you celebrate. - Mgm|(talk) 08:47, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Happy Holidays!

Re: the afd you mentioned
editI put in my two cents on the afd page for Progressive logic. It does need more attention in the style category, but don't give up. I think that with the right touch it would be an outstanding article. My usefulness in this matter is limited to suggesting that you follow the lead and advice of JWestbrook and to study various other articles, particularily how they are styled. Also, use the discussion tab associated with the particular article to find some common ground as to how the article should appear. Good luck and enjoy the holidays!--Robert Harrisontalk contrib 04:39, 23 December 2005 (UTC)
Unlike Robert I cannot support keeping the article. I nominated it not only because of the original tone, but because this appeared to be your original interpretation of US politics. If this is not the case, you should add some sources, not written by you, that refer to the concept described in the article as "progressive logic." Gazpacho 00:30, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
I second what Gazpacho wrote. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original research or thought (see WP:NOT and WP:NOR). If, however, this concept exists outside of your books and publications, I would suggest adding them to the references. Stifle 01:45, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
After AFD
editJust so this is said, and so you know, if the article is deleted per AFD then I would suggest contributing in other articles, and not try and recreate Progressive logic. Recreating deleted content can/will get you tagged as a vandal and treated as such. I am not saying that you will, but just letting you know what would happen. Happy Contributing! J\/\/estbrook Talk VSCA 23:35, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
I don't intend to remove your book from the list of books discussing Lakoff; that is an appropriate place for your book and possibly even a link to Progressive logic since it survived AfD without consensus (although it still seems like original research). I'm not sure whether I'm going to remove your criticisms section again. If you haven't yet, see my reply on Talk:George Lakoff.
P.S. I don't think it would be inappropriate to have an article about your book, but it doesn't seemthat your writings are notable enough for Progressive logic as a subject to have its own article in Wikipedia. Mike Dillon 06:47, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Did you start your own biography page here?
editBesides trying to start a page about your work (Progressive Logic, deleted as noted above) it seems that you added your own bio to wikipedia. Do you have any appropriate notability sources for your bio?
