October 2008 edit

  Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your user page, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's user page guideline. After you look over that guideline, could we discuss that concern here? I'd appreciate hearing your views, such as your reasons for wanting this particular page and any alternatives you might accept.

There are several options available for resolving this matter:

  • If you can relieve my concerns through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
  • If you decide to delete the page yourself, please add {{Db-userreq}} to the top of the page in question and an administrator will delete it.
  • If the two of us can't agree on what needs to be done, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's user pages for discussion, which may result in the page in question being deleted.

Thank you. CWii(Talk|Contribs) 03:07, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am familiar with Wikipedia's user page guideline. Please specify your concern and I will address it. WitchieAnna (talk) 03:09, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was concerned that your userpage seemed to much of a resume. But, now that I have taken a second look, I am less concerned. I'm going to go and ask for a 2nd opinion. Just remember that you may not have non-free images in your userspace. Thanks, CWii(Talk|Contribs) 03:12, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think I understand your concern and have modified the page. WitchieAnna (talk) 03:28, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well you userpage seems fine and the non-free image was replaced by a free one which is good, so apart from that, I think its fine, just avoid adding any URL links to other websites on your userpage..thanks ...--Cometstyles 03:25, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Megan Hill edit

A tag has been placed on Megan Hill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Vianello (talk) 03:35, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • This may not be what you're trying to do, but you might, just in case, want to read WP:POINT. - Vianello (talk) 03:37, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. A page you recently created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for new pages, so it will shortly be removed (if it hasn't been already). Concerning what you mentioned edit

Looks like it's already taken care of. I understand and all, no hard feelings or problems or anything. My earlier advice honestly is meant for your sake. I do approve of what you're doing. - Vianello (talk) 03:44, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. WitchieAnna (talk) 03:47, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Ann O'Leary edit

I will go back and establish notability. Thanks. WitchieAnna (talk) 03:58, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Concerning your further quandaries edit

Actually, not providing sources isn't grounds for speedy deletion. I've marked up the Sheri Cohen page with templates reflecting what needs changed/added to make it acceptable. Someone might be justified in nominating it to WP:AfD, but not speedy deletion. - Vianello (talk) 04:00, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much. It looks like someone else got to the Ann O'leary article while I was trying to fill it out, and already took care of putting a bit more in and removed the speedy (I guess Ann has a lot of fans in the US!). Again, thanks so much. WitchieAnna (talk) 04:09, 19 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
