Huggle User Category

Hi there. I have seen that you use huggle by the fact that you have automatically updated the huggle white list(it does this when closing huggle). I was wondering if you would add the category [[Category:Wikipedians who use Huggle]] to your user page so that it fills out and we know who actually uses huggle. If you do not want to you do not have to. I am also sorry if i have already talked to you about this or you no longer use huggle but i sent it to everyone that has edited the page since mid January. I hope we can start to fill out this category. If you would like to reply to this message then please reply on my talk page as i will probably not check here again. Thanks. ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 18:27, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

HBC AIV helperbot7 Error

Earlier today this bot removed a report I had made at the same time it removed another report when the user I reported hadn't been blocked yet. diff While normally this might be just a minor annoyance, this particular vandal was performing page move vandalism at excess of five a minute, and the three minutes it took me to notice the error provided just that much more pointless aggravation. If you could look into this for me I would really appreciate it.--Dycedarg ж 04:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey - yeah there have been a few isolated incidents of that happening. It seems that the problem happens when the bot makes an edit at the same split second as someone else makes a new report. Unfortunately, for some reason the edit conflict occasionally does not register for some reason and so this can happen. The reason for it isn't immediately clear - the bot's code should prevent it happening - but it may be a result of the minor latency between the bot's server and the Wikipedia database server, or it may be an occasional bug with mediawiki not notifying of the edit conflict. I've raised the issue with Krellis previously, who keeps the helperbot code up to date these days, and it seems there is unfortunately not much that can be done about it. Thankfully, the issue is a very rare one, given how many thousands of edits the helperbots make, but if it does happen, the best approach is just to make the report again I think. Sorry about that. AIV Helperbot

Hi,

Is there any chance you could email me the latest instructions for installing and running the helperbot? Thanks! alphachimp 14:50, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey. Well the latest code can be found here and you'll need to email Krellis for the latest version of the Mediawiki.pm module since he is the one that keeps the code up to date these days. Apart from that, I imagine everything is exactly the same as when you last ran the bot. Best regards. Will (aka Wimt) 22:43, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Revert of Splash Plastic

Hi , your recent revert to Splash Plastic fails to take the links into the account. The link used by User:87.86.11.122 provides information, while the link you reverted to has little information and is mostly a comparison. Next time, please check both links before reverting. Thanks.Samuell Lift me up or put me down 02:44, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey - my revert was of one editor linkspamming a site of dubious merit (a review of their contributions shows clearly they only intend to promote that site). I do not dispute that the existing link is also spammy and should be removed too, but I don't agree that the linkspamming should have remained unreverted. Regards.
