Happy New Year, WikiDon. Hope the holidays were pleasant for you.

I am writing about the "List of Catholic American Actors", with which, obviously, I have been involved in updating, etc., although it must be pointed out that I did not CREATE the list, nor any other religious list (Lutherans, Mormons, Jews, etc). I just wanted to expend my expertise and meticulousness on what I thought would be an enjoyable diversion.

This has not proven to be the case. The "List of Catholic American Actors" contains non-U.S. citizens. I made a request for any editor/administrator to change the NAME of the list to something more inclusive, like, say, "List of English-speaking Catholic actors", or "List of Catholic Actors from English-speaking countries". Because as it is the contents of the list (although I removed natives of non-English speaking countries, except Ricardo Montalban, because he's been in the country for over 60 years) do not match the name of the list in question.

Of course, "Demiurge", tells me (4 January 2006) that my request is "nonsense", and that I should play in the sandbox. He has turned into an automatic reverter of almost any edit I make with the boiler plate "vandal" in the edit summary.

I know I have made some enemies at Wikipedia and that saddens me, and I know I bear some of the responsibility for having axes to grind, however factual in nature.

I can't even sign in because "Jtdirl" had me on some kind of autoblock that I told Jason Lunkwill about. Jtdirl lied to Jason and told him he was not blocking me, so I copied something from "Jtdirl"'s blocking history and pasted it in an email to Jason, who declared it "interesting" since apparently "Jtdirl" had created a secret account of some sort. Don't ask me you know I don't understand that degree of cyber-esoterica.

I am a lot older than Jason, and I could see that he had no serious intent to do anything about the situation and was just leading me about by the nose, so I emailed him early last month, partially in caps (which led him to accuse me of "screaming" at him) and he told me that he would not read anything from me until Christmas, and that even after Christmas he could/would not promise to help me. I declined his offer and contacted Catherine Munro (on 29 December) in a long rambling email to which she obviously never replied. Jason was also upset at me because I sent an email to Daniel Brandt defending Wikipedia b/c I felt Brandt was exploiting the Siegenthaler incident, and I sent a cc of my email to Jason and Pat Gunn. I did not have any bad intentions in doing so, in fact, I wanted them to see that I still supported Wikipedia despite the problems I was having. Jason told me I had placed him on a "public mailing list", but his email address is publicly available anyway at Wikipedia in the section re mediators. That's how I got it!!! Jason accused me of "cajoling" him!!!

Rifle Research

Hi, I'm doing research for a novel, and I was wondering, since you created the Henry Rifle article, if you know of resources available online or to you regarding breechloader availability in the period 1850-1860. Specifically, how likely would it be that a cowboy could own a breechloader rifle during this time period? (Likely suspects: M1819 Hall rifle, or possibly the Henry rifle itself?) Roller-compactor: suggested move to "Road roller"

Hello WikiDon,

I have photographed several road construction roller-compactors ("steamrollers"? "road rollers"?), and before updloading to Commons, did some Google searches to decide how to name them. From the results, I see the that the term "roller-compactor" is ambiguious: it is used also for several pharmaceutical/chemical/food-industry machines. E.g., the top Google result right now is [1], reading:

Vector Corporation - roller compactor, dry compaction, dry ...

Manufacturer of coating, granulating and drying equipment for pharmaceutical,chemical, food and confectionery industries for processing powders

And this seems different from another high Google result:[2]; etc.

Thus I suggest moving the "Roller-compactor" page to "Road roller", and perhaps Steamroller should also be merged to it?

Sounds reasonable to me. "Road roller" will make clear that the it is about an engineering vehicle. MathKnight 20:52, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

Berge Stahl

Hi, sorry it took me forever to reply. I don't work for Bergesen, I just created the article quite on random. I'm not sure you can say that Berge Stahl means 'steel mountain', 'Berge' is just a name they use for all their ships, derived from 'Bergesen', and as for 'Stahl', I'm not quite sure what it means, but it sure isn't Norwegian. It sounds like German for Steel. As for the photos, the website released them into the public domain when I made my article. They just asked to be informed. Now the whole web site seems to be different though. Eixo 23:31, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
