Hello. Can I kindly ask you what are you doing with the Sapphire (author) article? Are you contributing to the biography of Ramona Lofton, or did you decide to evict the previous article? In any case, this is not the way things are usually done around here. The disambiguation page at Sapphire (disambiguation) needs revised to relect your changes, if they are not reverted. GilliamJF 21:58, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

If your intent was to blank my talk page, please leave me alone. Thanks. GilliamJF 22:25, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have taken the liberty of reverting the Sapphire (author) page, since it seemed that the person was different from the original person on the page. You are welcome to create a new page, although you may want to be sure the subject is notable (see WP:BIO for details). If the article is about you, it is best to not write the article at all (see WP:AUTO for more information). ...As I was writing this, I saw you removed the content of my user page. Please don't, it could be considered vandalism. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker to get ahold of me. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 22:29, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please, if you want to get a message to me, the fastest way is my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker. Deleting content from my user page (the one describing me) may be considered vandalism. You can create a user page for your account as well, at User:WikiAuthor, if you like. Please also note that no one owns a page on Wikipedia, see WP:OWN. You also should refrain from repeatedly reverting edits; you may be blocked from editing for doing so (see WP:3RR). Thanks. --TeaDrinker 22:41, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

How to send message out to specific user? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WikiAuthor (talkcontribs) .

This is the correct method. You just edit their talk page, and add a note the the bottom. It is usually a good idea to sign your posts, which is done by typing four tildes (~~~~). What can I help with? --TeaDrinker 22:53, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome! (We can't say that loudly enough!)

Here are a few links you might find helpful:

You can sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing ~~~~; our software automatically converts it to your username and the date.

If you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on [[User talk:{{{1}}}|my talk page]]. Or, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

We're so glad you're here! --Bigtop (tk||cb|em|ea) 22:57, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Template text

edit

I am somewhat confused by your questions on my talk page. Firstly, the most recent revert was done by User:GilliamJF, not myself. However I am happy to discuss the changes. I am not clear on what you mean it is template text. A template on Wikipedia is a pre-defined message that can be sent via a shortcut. For instance, User:Bigtop sent you a welcome message with a template (specifically the template {{welcome4}}). The text on the Sapphire (author) page has been there since 2005. If there are problems with it, the best place to bring them up is on the article talk page, Talk:Sapphire (author). To simplify things, feel free to write messages below this one, and I will check back.

Please Do Not blank other people's user pages. You are welcome to create your own user page at User:WikiAuthor. Thanks, --TeaDrinker 23:43, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to target users' pages for vandalism you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. - GilliamJF 23:43, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

You are in danger of violating the three-revert rule on a page. Please cease further reverts or you may be blocked from further editing. - GilliamJF 23:49, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

"I do not know I am wasting my time talking to you, you try to create a new page not a individul page, this template will show up.

Try yourself. "

Go to the "Help" and go into "Create New Page" then type the title of your desired name, then this template will show up.

Try,

for GilliamJF

You Vandalized my page, IN CASE YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED IT.

I think I see the issue. In fact the material you removed was another author named Sapphire, not meaningless text. There already was an article called Sapphire (author) which you removed by replacing it with the content about yourself. In such cases, it is necessary to determine a new title for the article. A new article will appear with a blank page (and the first time you edit it, the article tab in the upper left corner of the screen will be red). The article you were editing already existed, and was simply about another author named "Sapphire". --TeaDrinker 23:54, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the link. The issue at hand here is what happens if there is more than one article with the same title. In this case, there are two authors named Sapphire, so to create a new page, it is necessary to disambiguate between them. I can assure you that, when starting new pages, the page begins as blank. A new title that might work would be Sapphire (Astral projection author) or something similar (click the red link, and you can create a new article). However before creating the article, remember:
  1. Material put on Wikipedia is not owned by anyone. Other people will edit and revise, possible even delete the page.
  2. The article will be deleted if the subject is not notable (see WP:BIO for guidelines on notability).
  3. You should not create an article about yourself. The only acceptable place to write about yourself is you userpage, User:WikiAuthor.
Thanks, and by all means feel free to contact me on my talk page if I can be of any help. --TeaDrinker 00:09, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey, TeaDrinker,

Thanks for your private message, I will take that, like you wrote. Obvisouly there are two same name writers, I will create another page.

Do you really drink tea? Twinings Tea is the best, for your info.

No hard feelings, :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WikiAuthor (talkcontribs) .

Happy to help, I do in fact drink tea. Being it is a hot summer where I'm at, I'm usually drinking ice tea, but when it cools off I switch to black teas (Irish Breakfast most frequently). Thanks for the tip on Twinnings. By all means let me know if I can be of any help. --TeaDrinker 00:22, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Private messages

edit

Hey, how to send private message? It will be fun to chat. If you want to. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiAuthor (talkcontribs)

There is no means directly in Wikipedia for private communication that others can't read. Some people choose to reveal their email or instant messenger address. I tend to shy away from such, however, to preserve privacy and project openness. Hope this helps, --TeaDrinker 00:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sapphire

edit

Thanks for sharing that link with me. I did find that link too, but could not find any information concerning the identity of the Sapphire who wrote the book. For now, I reccomend adding the Category:American writers to your new article. - GilliamJF 01:46, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

your edits to Time travel

edit

Please do not add self-promotion material to any article in Wikipedia, as you did to Time travel; this is considered spamming. Persisting in this activity can result in being blocked from editing. Read the introduction materials to Wikipedia to get a sense of the sort of edits that are acceptable. Thanks KarlBunker 10:47, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
