  • And while Wikipedia (like IMDB) is user-contributed, we've never said that Wikipedia itself is a reliable source. Tabercil (talk) 16:23, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
This is absolutely ridiculous! IMDB is not in the same way user-contributed as Wikipedia is. All information is checked before it is posted.
This is what IMDB says about the Credit Eligibility Rules:
"The database is not updated in real time. Any information submitted to the IMDb won't appear immediately:
it has to be checked and processed by our staff first. New credits submissions take a minimum of 8 to 10 days
before they appear online, assuming they are sent through our automated web-based submission form." [1]
So, if you are saying that IMDB is not a reliable source, then what is??? Besides, if you are claiming that IMDB is not reliable, then why is Wikipedia FULL with links to IMDB.com??? On just about every Wiki about movies, actors, actresses, etc. there is a link to IMDB.com. Shouldn't they all be removed then, because of the unreliability of the source???
You are withholding important information about this person (Nicole Sheridan, birthname Melissa Post) from Wikipedia. There is NO source on the internet stating that the birthname of Nicole Sheridon is NOT Melissa Post and there are dozens of sources stating that it IS so... So, what is reliable???
Here are some of the sources:
Really, if there would be any source claiming OTHERWISE, I would be fair enough as to post them too, but there aren't any!!!
Also I found this information:
"Big screen actors and pop singers often act as "inspiration" for porn actors. For example, when Melissa Post
changed her name to Nicole Sheridan, it wasn’t arbitrary. She was very obviously drawing attention to her
passing resemblance to Nicollette Sheridan, who is best known for her work on Desperate Housewives."
Anyway, if there is really still any doubt about her birthname (only she can prove it by showing her id, but I doubt she will ever do that), at least there should be made an entry about it on the Wiki. This "birthname", true or not, pops up so often that at least it should be mentioned as an alias... But I think, it is at least 99,9% sure, that her birthname is Melissa Post and it should be mentioned on the Wiki of Nicole Sheridan... You want a more reliable source? Then you need to get a copy of her passport!!! More reliable than the ones mentioned above you just can't get about a person like her... She's a porn star for God's sake, not Meryl Streep!!
