Some of this sounds overly complicated, and doesn't get to the nub of the issue for me, which is that Target A of the proposal we're talking about should be noticeably increasing the absolute and relative numbers of readers becoming at least moderately experienced Wikipedians (let's say >100 edits, edits to >3 distinct-but-possibly-related articles, >5 edits to a talk page, that sort of ball park though obviously you can argue about the numbers). I'm quite prepared to except a decrease in the number of new accounts, number of new articles, number of editors achieving autoconfirmed status but not reaching "moderately experienced" status as defined above, if it makes Target A happen. So what any trial measures need to focus on is how to measure success in relation to Target A. Rd232 talk 00:48, 9 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
