Your username

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "COMV productions", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 23:46, 2 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. PhilKnight (talk) 21:21, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have problems with your edits so far, they were promotional - yet I'm still prepared to unblock if you indicate your acceptance of certain policies. Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Max Semenik (talk) 00:05, 3 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Max Semenik for taking the time to inform me of the conflicts. The links you provided are very helpful. I am a student at the Business College who recently started working with their marketing team. It was called to our attention that the message of the school on the wikipedia page is very out dated from our current focus and purpose.

I will look over the changes, provide links to the resources, and see what I can remove to allow the page to be more informative and less bias.

Thank you for taking the time to keep Wikipedia reliable. I will keep working to learn how to do the same on my side.

You have failed to answer all three of the questions above. you will not be unblocked until you give satisfactory answers to them. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 12:46, 4 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Anthony Bradbury for clarifying, as requested:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory? -I can see how certain words in my corrections expressed a sales type of feeling. I will alter the text to not be promoting but to state facts. I will also find the various articles published that back up those facts. Do you understand conflict of interest? -Yes I do understand conflict of interest, there are a few phrases I will remove to avoid having the needed updates sound promoting. Where do I note my relation to the College as mentioned in the COI page? Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable? -Yes. I was working on gathering the links to add in after my original edit. Because of this experience I will now wait to do updated until all the link and facts are gathered.
