Warnings

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of characters in the Resident Evil series. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Adrianwn (talk · contribs)

Understanding WP:WAF

edit

Before further editing the List of characters in the Resident Evil series list, I strongly suggest reading and fully understanding Wikipedia's Writing About Fiction Policy. In general most Wikipedia articles should refrain from including overly detailed or trivial in-universe information. The fact that Barry is a gun nut does not directly weigh-in on his portrayal in the Resident Evil series. Furthermore, I suggest looking over WP:NFC, which pertains to Copy Right Laws. List/Articles are not supposed to have several non-free images. Thanks --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  08:28, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

RE characters Warning

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. However, please know that editors do not own articles and should respect the work of their fellow contributors on List of characters in the Resident Evil series. If you create or edit an article, know that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  06:58, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please stop assuming ownership of articles. Doing so may lead to disruptive behavior such as edit wars and is a violation of policy, which may lead to a block from editing. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:30, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Umm... you engaged in an editor war with several users. If I wanted to, I could have you blocked right now for editing Waring with Mr. T-based. If you noticed, I stopped editing the article a day ago, and left comments on your talk page that specifically address the issue. Surprisingly, you have not responded. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:35, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Then I STRONGLY suggest discussing the issue on his talk page rather than reverting. If you revert the page once more, I will issue a 3RR warning, meaning if you revert again, you will be blocked for a period of time. I also suggest reading WP:WAF and WP:OR - read and understand them both from top to bottom before editing fiction based articles. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:45, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:47, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also please note that I have only revereted the page ONCE within the past 24 hours; you have performed over 4 - meaning you will get blocked if a user reports you. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:50, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Character" articles are not meant to contain excessive in-universe information about characters - that's NOT what Wikipedia articles are supposed to contain. Character articles are supposed to have a lot of information that examines characters through the perspectives of critics and analysts. Excessive information about a Character's back ground DOES NOT belong on Wikipedia - it belongs on the RE Wikia. Information that fails to meet WP:WAF is subject to be promptly deleted. For a near-perfect example of how character pages are supposed to look, see Characters of StarCraft. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  22:59, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I know what a character is - there's no need for a personal attack. It's not a matter of my comprehension of the term 'character', it's a matter that you do not understand the Wikipedia's policies, specifically Writing About Fiction. --  StarScream1007  ►Talk  23:16, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 22:53, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
