Spam in WeDrink

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on WeDrink, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because WeDrink is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting WeDrink, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.

However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list. PeterSymonds (talk) 11:24, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I apologize for being too aggressive about the idea of collaborative microphilanthropy (and, by extension, the WeDrink initiative). I'd like to modify the CMP page to remove links to the WeDrink site so that the concept alone may be added to Wikipedia. If this is not possible, I hope to have the IP ban removed, as I'm on a shared IP location and don't want to harm fellow wikipedians around me. Rest assured we had no malicious intent, and we apologize for this snag again. Thank you.

Decline reason:

Ok. I'll remove the ip autoblock and allow account creation for IP editors from this address. Please be aware that any promotional activities related to this product or your company will be dealt with quickly and will likely result in longer and more complete blocks of the accounts involved. This account itself will remain blocked due to the username violation. Thank you. Protonk (talk) 16:33, 8 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
