You might want to put an apostrophe in "cant" in the first paragraph. The proper spelling of the intended word is "can't".
I can't help with the meaning or usage of the word. Alan Weinblatt used it in an assignment at Boston College in the early 70s and it has just barely stuck with me as an interesting word and concept. I've been trying to remember it for a week and it finally surfaced. I'm grateful for your notes on it.
